Of the 27 first-round starters, 5 managed to jump faultlessly over the first round. Ireland’s Andrew Bourns jumped clear on both his mounts, Denise Wilson of the USA stuck to form with Winter, Luibov Kochetova of Russia was clear aboard Wilford and Ian on Star Power.
Going second to last with no double clear, Millar rode a conservative clear to take the lead with Kochetova and Wilford holding down the last spot in the jump-off. Kochetova gave it a great run, breaking the timers 0.06 seconds off the pace to finish in second, and secure Millar’s first Champions victory!
