Hunters to Take Center Stage at Angelstone National Phase II
JUNE 7, 2013 – ROCKWOOD, ON – Angelstone’s National Phase II competition has been restructured to further showcase North America’s greatest Hunter talent during the week of August 28th to September 1st.
“At Angelstone we hold competitor feedback in the utmost importance and are constantly incorporating it in ways to improve the horse show.,” said Angelstone Vice President Ryan Clermont. “During our two weeks of FEI competition in May, we consulted hundreds of riders and trainers. The resounding theme was a desire to bring the Hunters to the forefront and open up the all-weather Angelstone Stadium to highlight our Hunter competitions, so this is precisely what we will be offering.”
There are a number of Hunter competitors who have not had the opportunity to compete at Angelstone. With the addition of “Hunterland,” featuring the all-new ESI Hunter and Warm-Up rings (All-Weather), as well as one of North America’s most picturesque grass rings (EEC Grand Hunter Ring), the venue will be one of the most Hunter-friendly show sites in the country.
The main stadium at Angelstone will be Main Hunter Ring during the National Phase II, while the Jumpers will compete in the Grand Prix for the first time on the beautiful EEC grass ring.
President of Operations, Keean White, stated, “Many barns have both Hunter and Jumper clients, and it is important to us to make sure that each exhibitor feels valued at Angelstone. This year we have invested heavily into the venue to make it a true Hunter destination, but wanted to take our efforts one step further by dedicating a week specifically to highlighting the Hunters in one of the most beautiful equestrian settings Canada has to offer, the Angelstone Main Stadium.”
The Baby Green, Pre Green and Combined Hunters will compete Wednesday, August 28th, and Thursday, August 29th. All Pony Hunter divisions will compete Friday, August 30th, followed by the Nationwide Auto Warranty JR/AM Hunter Nations Cup, where teams will consist of one pony, one child/adult Hunter, one Junior/Amateur Hunter and one professional rider. Teams will count the best three out of four scores for team totals. Saturday and Sunday, August 31st and September 1st will feature Children’s, Adult Amateur, Junior and Amateur Owner Hunter divisions.
The Grand Prix will take place Saturday afternoon at 4:00 pm on the beautiful EEC Grass Ring followed by the Canadian Hunter Derby at 6:30 pm in the Main Stadium. The evening will conclude with an incredible finale event with a performance by The Test Icicles at Angelstone’s Cloud9 nightclub.
