Fun Filled Friday!!

Friday is always a fun day here at Angelstone! Ponies were the stars of the day, rocking the Great Pony Challenge! Riders were in teams of three, and got to pick a fun team name and a costume to go along with! There was some serious creativity! ‘Pink Ladies’, ‘Pirates’, ‘Life’s a beach’, ‘Girl Power’, ‘Ghost Busters’ and more! Congratulations to the ‘Ghost Busters’ team for winning of the best costumes! Forty-three ponies participated, all dressed from head to toe in their very colorful costumes. It all made for a very great afternoon of pony competition and an even more fun atmosphere for parents and children! We would like to thank all the pony moms and fathers for bringing snacks for the little ones in the hunter lounge! How fun!!

Derbies were also the main event yesterday, starting at 5:00 PM over in the grass field. Jumps provided by Mr.Jeff Brandmaier were used to create a quality derby course. As always, high-quality material as well as some diversity made for an interesting course for our competitors. Thirty horses participated, this time Peter Gisborn rising to the occasion to claim the red ribbon aboard Jalisco.

Shortly after, the Junior Amateur derby was held over the same course. Seventeen combinations showed the great execution of the derby course. However, Emma Saunders earned the highest score aboard Loverboy to take top honors, congratulations!

FEI events are also taking place this week starting Wednesday, where Jeff Brandmaier and his amazing partner Jenny Van Het Waterblok took home the win in our opening FEI 1.35m class. This was also Jeffs first FEI class win! Way to go Jeff! Keean White and Corette were the winners of the Open Welcome class on Thursday evening. Our closing FEI class, the 1.45m Grand Prix presented by NationWide Auto Warranty will be held this evening in the main stadium. Good luck to all!!
