ANGELSTONE TO LIGHT UP THE NIGHT SKY
FOR TWO MARQUEE EVENTS IN 2014,
COURTESY OF DWIGHT CRANE
November 30th, 2013 – ERIN, ON – For the first time in the history of Eastern Canadian show jumping, Angelstone is set to host a pair of high-profile Grand Prix events at night within the venue’s sprawling 100 acre site located between the Southern Ontario towns of Erin and Rockwood.
The unique technology that will enable the venue to turn ‘night into day’ is provided by Toronto’s Dwight Crane, the film industry’s leader in high-intensity lighting systems, credited with many of Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters, including Iron Man, Transformers and X-Men. Dwight Crane has partnered with Angelstone to present what is to become one of North America’s most unique show jumping events.
Angelstone President, Keean White added: “We have been on the lookout for creative solutions to light up the Angelstone Stadium for the past couple of years. In discussions with our spectators and competitors, there was a buzz about hosting an event ‘under the lights’. In 2014, we will surpass expectations and host two back-to-back Super Saturdays in the evening, creating an atmosphere for spectators that will be unforgettable. We are incredibly pleased to bring Dwight Crane on board this year as a featured sponsor of show jumping at Angelstone – there is simply no better company to do what many would have considered impossible just a few short years ago.”
Dwight Crane will position two self-contained crane systems at the Angelstone Stadium and hoist a pair of massive robotic aerial lighting systems a hundred feet in the air. The ground-breaking LRX fixtures are the world’s most advanced outdoor lights and will flood the venue with over 140,000 watts of lighting.
‘Angelstone at Night’ will focus on a pair of marquee events this coming season, the Champions Grand Prix (presented by Eric Lamaze) on August 23rd and the National Grand Prix on August the 30th. Angelstone’s prestigious Grand Prix events are referred to by fans as ‘Super Saturday’ – nights filled with Champagne, Hors D’Oeuvres, and a stylish crowd, most of whom make the 50km trip from Toronto for a night of world-class show jumping under the stars. Super Saturdays are capped by the Cloud9 experience, Angelstone’s nightclub overlooking the show jumping arena. The evening program has been described by the media as a ‘Gatsby-Esque’ jaunt in the countryside – an event that will surely draw crowds and competitors from all across North America.
The venue has grown dramatically since being founded in 2010 and is widely regarded as one of North America’s most progressive show jumping venues, hosting 5 weeks of world-caliber competitions that attract many of world’s top riders including Kent Farrington, Leslie Howard, Ian Millar, Connor Swail, Charlie Jayne, Andrew Bourns, Liubov Kochetova and Karen Cudmore.
Reserved VIP Tables for this pair of evening events will go on sale on Saturday, December the 9th at 8 PM and be limited to only 20 tables for each night. Ringside tables include Veuve Clicquot Champagne service and catering for six guests. Angelstone will offer the first 10 tables at 20% off for 24 hours starting at 8 PM on the 9th of December using promo code: DWIGHTCRANE. Tables can be reserved by visiting http://www.angelstone.ca
