MAY 21, 2012 – CALEDON, ON – The Caledon Equestrian Park hosted the first stop of the Lothlorien 2012 Young Horse Series this past weekend.

Events kicked off Thursday with the five-year-old competition. Leading the way was Canada’s Yann Candele riding Delany owned by Barbara Mitchel.

The six-year-old class was held Friday afternoon with Hugh Graham riding Knock Out 3E to the winner’s circle for King Ridge Stables.

The final event of the week was the seven / eight-year-old qualifier event held Saturday afternoon. Beth Underhill was the winning rider aboard Celline 2 for Nicole Walker. Celline 2 was the 2011 seven-year-old Champion.

Coming up this week will be the second of twelve qualifying events held in Pepieniere, Quebec, as competitors continue along their path gaining valuable qualifying points for the finals which will be held at the Angelstone International in September 26-30.

Competitors are also chasing the $2500 “Dutchmasters Bonus” which will be awarded to the first horse that wins 6 events in 2012.
