Since 2014, Angelstone has hosted the young horse finals. It has rapidly become a staple event for young horse owners, breeders and trainers across Canada and the US! To qualify, horses must compete in the Semi-Final, held during โ€œThe Internationalโ€. The top twenty combinations of each age category qualify for the two-round final the following week.

Oscar Soberon built a fantastic track for young horse finalists, with numerous inviting questions and adequate challenges for the youngsters to surpass while gaining positive mileage. Horses walking into the final round on Sunday carrying their score from the initial round held on Friday and competed in reverse order of cumulative standings.

5-Year-Old Jumpers competed first in the stadium, six of them walked in on zero faults, however only one horse managed to finish the week off on a perfect score of zero and that is Brio, under South Shore Farm rider Bianca Lafontaine. South Shore Farm & Francis Berger are also the breeders of Brio. Molly Dinapoli rode EWSZ Juno to runner up title, while WKM Bit of a Pickle earned the third-place ribbon.

Incanto Nottumo, owned and ridden by Alex Jamael stayed unbeatable throughout the week taking home top honors in both rounds of the final and doing so by keeping their score at zero faults. Irishman William Hickey took home second and third-place finishes on Ina Ballet Du Rouet and Idalgo, both sporthorses owned by North Star of East Aurora, New York. Both Incanto Nottumo and Ina Balou Du Rouet advanced to a jump-off round after tying their initial score. A score of four faults for Alex Jamael kept him on top!

Lastly, a jump-off round also determined the final results of the 7-Year-Old division. Paul Halpern rode Esra for owner Vanessa Lee to the top of the leaderboard of the age division. Leslie Howard piloted Hoar Hound to a second-place finish, and Rachel Schnurr rode Clever to third.

We would like to thank and congratulate all who made this Young Horse Final special, all who breed, ride, train and groom young horses and work tirelessly to develop quality young horses in North America. The future is Promising!
