Ainsley Vince and ‘Frieda’ Blaze to Victory at the $50,000 FEI Grand Prix at Angelstone

JUNE 2, 2013 – ROCKWOOD, ON – The skies cleared on Saturday night for the $50,000 FEI Grand Prix at Angelstone, presented by NG Stone. The All-Weather footing in the Angelstone Stadium was put to the test with the field receiving over ten inches of rain over the week of competition.

The field featured many of Canada’s top show jumpers competing over an ambitious test designed by International Course Designer, Oscar Soberon (Mexico). The first round resulted in seven clear rounds, resulting in an action-packed jump-off.

At the end of the night, it was Ainsley Vince and “Frieda” that posted a blazing time that could not be bested by the other six horses. Frieda had an outstanding day, as did up-and-coming jumper “Pironella”, ridden by Keean White. The eight-year-old mare had a double clear outing in her second FEI Grand Prix and earned a third-place finish, behind “Gatsby” and Andrew Bourns.

Angelstone’s Spring Series of shows comes to an end on Sunday, with an additional three weeks of international competition returning to the Angelstone Equestrian Park starting August 7th for the Ottawa Launch Event, in Rockwood, Ontario.
