LESLIE HOWARD AND TIC TAC CLAIM VICTORY IN THE $100,000 FEI WORLD CUP QUALIFER PRESENTED BY FRONT STREET CAPITAL AT ANGELSTONE

SEPTEMBER 29, 2013 – ROCKWOOD, ON – On Saturday evening, The FEI World Cup Qualifier got off to a great start as Kristen Coe jumped a clear round aboard ZoJasper in front of a capacity crowd of energized spectators.

Thirty-four of the most prestigious riders ever assembled at Angelstone tackled Oscar Soberon’s course with a time allowed of 87 seconds. The course was a challenging track for the talented field of riders. The triple bar located right next to the in-gate followed by an intimidating vertical caused some riders problems as they rolled back to a white skinny vertical.

Russia’s Ljubov Kochetova and Aslan sailed over the jumps, clearing each with room to spare. Kent Farrington, currently ranked 2nd in North America, made the difficult track look effortless aboard Uceko, with a stunning clear round. Quentin Judge handled the pressure of the intense World Cup Qualifier track and put in a clear round as well, securing them a trip to the jump-off with his mount HH Wilco.

Tic Tac and Leslie Howard put in a clear effort and snagged the fifth spot in the jump-off. The sixth jump off pair, David Arcand and Vledder, had a great week at Angelsone, achieving a second-place finish in the Animo Open Welcome on Thursday night. Angelstone Tournaments very own Keean White energized the crowd with his clear performance riding Pironella.

Jay Hayes and Riva showed how comfortable they are in the Angelstone Main Stadium with their second clear round of the week. Quentin Judge jumped last and cleared the course once again aboard his second mount, HH Donatella.

Nine horses jumped-off, in pursuit of the $30,000 prize, awarded to the winner on behalf of Front Street Capital. Russia’s Ljubov Kotchetova, held the lead throughout the jump-off. Leslie Howard brought the huge crowd to their feet and cleared the last jump on course with a lightning-fast time of 38 seconds for the win beating Ljubov by just a second.

Riding with a broken leg, Howard overcame significant pain and flew to victory to claim the Front Street Capital check at the FEI World Cup Qualifier at the Angelstone International CSI-W.
