The Caledon Spring Tour – The System Equine Cup & Masterfeeds Summer Showcase

An amazing two weeks to wrap up the Caledon Spring Tour, with a huge thanks to System Equine and Masterfeeds for sponsoring the shows!

At the System Equine Cup, we had the Hunters take over the Kubota Ring, plenty of exciting Derby action, a tie for top winnings in the Open Welcome, and fantastic show jumping competition with junior riders claiming top spots.

The Masterfeeds Summer Showcase was in full swing, bringing together top competition, great sportsmanship, and unforgettable moments in every ring. From thrilling Grand Prix rounds and competitive derbies, to future stars shining in the junior and amateur divisions, the week showcased the incredible talent of both horse and rider combinations.

Thank you to all of our exhibitors, owners, trainers, sponsors, staff, officials, and spectators who helped make these final two weeks of the Caledon Spring Tour such a success. We can’t wait to welcome everyone back to the Angelstone Canada Day Tour for more exciting competition this season!

$10,000 Open Welcome sponsored by Horse Flight

What an exciting Open Welcome! We had not one, but two winners as Holly Jacks and Sam Pegg stopped the clock at an identical 37.01 seconds in the jump-off. A tie for the win is something you rarely see in show jumping, making this an unforgettable moment for competitors and spectators alike.

 

Junior Riders Riding Up The Ranks 

Junior rider Isabella Erlick took the win with Toucare KDW Z in the $25,000 System Equine Grand Prix. This marks Isabella and Toucare KDW Z’s second Grand Prix win at Angelstone Events, having also claimed victory in The System Equine Cup last year.

 

We also saw our U25 riders making their mark in the ring! 

Keep an eye on Channing Noxon & Citwidam Z, who impressed spectators with a third-place finish in the Masterfeeds Summer Showcase, while Kyleigh Whitwell & Retroflex captured the win in the $10,000 Pommies Open Welcome. These talented young athletes continue to showcase the skill, dedication, and determination that define the future of our sport.

Young riders are at the heart of what makes Angelstone Events so special. Watching their hard work, perseverance, and passion pay off in the ring is incredibly rewarding, and their success is a testament to the bright future of show jumping in Canada. We are proud to support and celebrate these rising stars and look forward to seeing what they accomplish next.

 

Now in Hunterland, the Founders Cup Derby presented by Pommies was one to watch! Both weeks, Nitecap claimed top honours, while Twelfth Nite consistently impressed with third-place finishes in each derby.

 

The Founders Cup Hunter Derby holds a special place at Angelstone Events as it is dedicated to the memory and legacy of Jeff Brandmaier, a passionate advocate for the hunter discipline in Canada. Jeff was a top hunter/jumper competitor, an Equestrian Canada Volunteer of the Year recipient, and the visionary founder of the Canadian Hunter Derby Series. Through his dedication and leadership, he helped grow hunter derbies across the country, creating opportunities for riders to showcase the traditional style, athleticism, and horsemanship that define the sport.

This award recognizes the combination that demonstrates meticulous, polished, and harmonious overall presentation. Attention to detail, cleanliness, pride in turnout, and beautifully presented apparel and equipment are all key elements considered for this special recognition.
