The Lothlorien Young Horse Championship is off
to a Tremendous Start in 2013
JULY 24, 2013 – BROMONT, QC – With over 100 horses from Ontario and Quebec competing to date, 2013 is shaping up to once again be the largest series to date.
Leading the way in the five-year-old division is Diamond Mine ridden by Hugh Graham. With two wins a piece, Univers Du Briot owned by Kim Passmore is second and Don Uno S owned by Susan Grange is third.
The six-year-old division has Social Network owned by Robert Taylor leading the way with 54 points. Talde de Violaines and GGN Stauffenberg third respectively. The only multiple winners is Afflash ridden by Shara Pavan in fourth place.
The seven and eight-year-olds are in a close battle for the top of the leader board with Knock out 3E leading the way; however, with two wins each, King’s Randsome 3E is second and Farina is third.
The first horse to win six qualifiers in 2013 will win the $2,500 Dutch Masters Bonus. We will continue to track multiple winners as the race for the bonus heats up.
This year’s series includes 14 qualifiers and a Final. The top 20 five and six-year-olds will qualify for the Final along with all winners of a qualifier. The seven and eight-year-old Final will be open to all. The Finals will take place at the Angelstone International, from September 25-29, in Erin, Ontario. All west coast and American riders automatically qualify to compete in the Finals.
