Olympian Eric Lamaze to Lead Unique Clinic Experience for Amateur Riders at Angelstone
Rockwood, Ontario. April 15, 2013 – Canadian Olympic Gold Medalist Eric Lamaze will host an exclusive riding clinic at Rockwood, Ontario’s Angelstone Tournaments on the evening of Friday, August 23rd. Lamaze very rarely participates in equestrian clinics but has been focused lately on nurturing the next generation.
“The future of our sport lies with today’s younger generation of Canadian riders,” said Lamaze. “I decided to host this clinic at Angelstone Tournaments as a way to give back to the community that has given me so much.”
Riders will have a chance to win their entrance to the clinic. The four coveted spots will be awarded to the leading point winner in the 1.10m, 1.20m, 1.30m, and 1.40m Junior/Amateur divisions at Angelstone’s two spring competitions in May, as well as the first competition week in August.
“Eric Lamaze is closely followed both here in Canada, as well as around the world,” said Angelstone President Keean White. “Lamaze and Hickstead left a lasting legacy on the global stage and were considered by most to be the greatest show jumping partnership of all time. We at Angelstone are both excited and grateful to be able to offer such a unique experience to young riders attending our shows.”
The Lamaze Mini-Clinic will be open to the general public at the Angelstone Stadium, located approximately 45 minutes Northwest of Toronto. The event will benefit Angelstone’s Commitment to Educate Scholarship Program, an initiative that awards a University scholarship to local enthusiasts under the age of 18. Auditors and spectators are encouraged to support the scholarship program by contributing online at www.angelstone.ca/clinics.
