| This week brought news that one of the show jumping world’s most acclaimed horses, Sapphire, has retired – and with the end of one era, begins another, as Canada’s top young jumpers begin their campaign to be crowned champion in their respective age brackets.Lothlorien’s Young Horse Series kicks off this week with the first of twelve qualifiers at the Caledon National, in Palgrave, Ontario. The Series will attract horses in three age categories for 5, 6, and 7/8-year-olds. Competitors will test their young horses at 7 different venues in Ontario and Quebec and conclude with the Finals at the Angelstone International in late September with over $45,000 up for grabs.
Following the Caledon National, the Series will cross in to Quebec for a stop at the Concours Hippique de St-Lazare from May 23rd to 27th.
Results throughout the season will be tracked online at Angelstone.co through the Dutch Masters Online Leaderboard. The Young Horse Series would also like to acknowledge the generous support of Dominion Regalia and King Ridge Stables for their contributions to the viability of this development Series.
Horses may be registered at any of the qualifiers, and owners can take advantage of an early registration discount prior to May 31st.
