Fridays are always the busiest day here at Angelstone, with the addition of a few feature classes this year.

The always so popular Hunter Derby was a huge success as always, with a total of 49 entries for the Open Hunter Derby and the Amateur Derby combined. Two heights, handy turns, hand galloping & height options put horses and riders to the test on our beautiful EEC Memorial Ring yesterday afternoon. Derby King Kristjan Good remains undefeated, taking the win on Salvo RSF. Jeff Brandmaier rode Lucky 2 Knight to a close second place finished, followed by Carly Campbell Cooper aboard Tweety Bird. As for the Junior Amateur Derby, Katie Sheedy rode her Vanderbilt to top honors. Katie was followed by Olivia Baird and Erin Ugolini riding Canon D and Bombay respectively.

Young jumpers also had a big day yesterday jumping the first round of their Young Horse Final, this final is presented by Cabana Coast. Each age group competed over the same track, setting them up nicely toward their final on Sunday. A cumulative point system over throughout will determine the overall winner on Sunday. The top twenty young horses from each age group from last weeks semi-final advanced to the finals this week. The horse and rider combinations started in a clean slate on Fridays for round one of the young horse finals and carrying their initial score into Sundayโ€™s finale. Leading after day one in the five-year-old section is EWSZ Juno, the six-year-old leader is Incanto Nottumo and seven-year-old leader is Quality Time 3E. The Cabana Coast young horse final will be held on Sunday afternoon in the Main Stadium.

Last but not least, our new EquiJet U25 Series Finale took a place yesterday where top finishers earned EquiJet vouchers as prize money. Caroline Di Vittorio was quickest through the timers in the jump-off, taking home the highest amount of EquiJet bucks. Runner-up and earning the second set of vouchers was Chantelle Sjolander, followed by Barbara Ruziska.
