With a total purse of $45, 000 in prize money, The Lothlorien Young Horse Championship proudly presented by committee members, Keean White, Beth Underhill, Hugh Graham, and Sven Frei will be held again this year at Angelstone Tournaments โ€“ The International CSI2* on August 30th. Angelstone is offering an exclusive $100 entry fee from its regular cost of $175 for those who enter their horse before May 31st for the first qualifier(s) held at the Erin Welcome CSI1* in two weeks. As well, there will be no jumper nomination for young horses only competing within these specialized classes.

To be eligible, riders and owners must be members of Equine Canada or USEF. The series is open to horses 5, 6, and 7 years of age with proof of an EC passport or equivalent. 7 year olds DO NOT need to compete in any of the qualifiers in order to compete in the final. The 5 and 6 year olds must compete in at least TWO qualifiers or WIN one of the qualifiers to compete in the final. For those looking to enter from Western Canada and the USA, you are eligible to compete in the final without having entered a qualifier.

Each age group of the (5, 6, and 7 year olds) will have the opportunity to capture the $15, 000 grand prize at the International CSI2*, provided they have met the qualifications to enter the final. Consisting of three rounds over a 5-day period, the horse with the least number of faults on the final day of competition will be declared the 2017 Young Horse Champion.
