The Michan brothers and their teams included the spring tour at Angelstone in their competition schedule this year and it sure paid off. Brothers Alberto and Daniel, who are originally from Mexico City, but currently riding under the Israeli flag had a stellar couple of weeks at Angelstone, making multiple appearances on the podium.

Cosa Nostra, the 9-year-old mare by Conthargos rose to the occasion this past Saturday evening, racing to top honors under Aby Michan and earning the first grand prize of the Kubota Triple Crown series, a new zero turn riding mower.

Also on a winning streak was the junior rider, Sam Walker, taking home the top prize in Saturdayโ€™s 1.40 meter classic aboard Gangster, owned by Castlefield Sporthorses. Sam continued to raise the bar, earning a second place finish in the FEI 2* Grand Prix presented by the Delta Hotels, the very same evening.

The last featured class to conclude the weekend was the BDF Equestrian Modified Grand Prix, which took place on Sunday afternoon in the Angelstone Stadium. Nineteen entries competed, with nine combinations moving on to the jump off. Peter Gisborn set the leading pace, leaving the fences up to lead most of the way; however, Jennifer Smith aboard Laissez Faire 3E bested the field, crossing the finish line only 0.4 seconds faster than Gisborn!

Also awarded during the BDF Equestrian Modified Grand Prix was the Leading Junior/U25 Amateur rider award, which was presented to Barbara Ruziska, from Maryland. Barbara also took home third place honors in the Modified Grand Prix.

The entire team at Angelstone would like to thank all our staff, sponsors, exhibitors, parents, riders, fans, spectators, judges, trainers and everyone who participated in any way to our spring series for your continued support and we very much look forward to hosting you again in August!
