ROCKWOOD, ON – MARCH 2, 2012 – It is well known that there is a growing need within Canada to find caring owners to adopt retired Thoroughbred racehorses. The LongRun Thoroughbred Retirement Society helps to bridge the gap between the horse racing industry and equestrian enthusiasts, making the adoption process as seamless as possible. The Society’s focus is on the retirement, retraining, and adoption of off-track Thoroughbreds into permanent loving homes.

In partnership with Angelstone Tournaments, LongRun is proud to recognize, promote, and reward Thoroughbred owners and riders in our 2012 Hunter Classic Series. Tournament President, Keean White is optimistic about working with LongRun to spread the word about all the fine work they are doing in the industry. “In the showjumping world, it is evident that Thoroughbreds have and continue to make a big impact both in the show ring and lesson arenas of farms across Canada. Angelstone and LongRun look forward to showcasing the talents of Thoroughbreds by offering a unique series specific to this breed of horses. By raising the exposure of Thoroughbreds in the sport, we hope that more enthusiasts can commit to working with LongRun to find homes for these fine animals.”

LongRun’s $4,500 Thoroughbred Hunter Series will take place at Angelstone Tournaments on August 25th (Angelstone National Phase I) and September 29th (Angelstone International). The Series will be open to all riders and Thoroughbred horses with fences being set at 3′, 3’3″ and 3’6″. Angelstone and LongRun would like to recognize Tri Acta, Adena Springs, and Chiefswood Stables for their gracious support of the Series.

Details about the Series can be found online at http://www.angelstone.ca
