JULY 19, 2015 – ERIN, ON<\/strong> – The third week of equestrian competition at Angelstone finished up last night with an evening performance from an International field of horse-rider combinations. <\/p>\n

Nationwide Auto Warranty, the country’s foremost provider of aftermarket warranty packages were the evening’s presenting sponsors for the $34,000 Headwaters Cup.<\/p>\n

Up to Saturday night, the visiting squads of South American riders had taken top honors on the podium in all 5 major competitions, completely shutting out the Canadian riders, vying for the top spot.<\/p>\n

A number of Canadians took to the turf course in the EEC Memorial Ring in hot pursuit, led by Erynn Ballard, who had a pair of clear rounds on Angelstone Partners’ duo of young horses, ‘Hera van de Kouterhoeve’ and ‘Appy Cara’, horses coming off outstanding seasons this past winter in Wellington, Florida. <\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

Before the night was over, six riders emerged to battle it out in the jump-off round, including Amy Millar (CAN), Darrin Dlin (CAN),\u200e Samuel Parot (CHI), Melissa Orlick-Zbierski (USA) and Erynn Ballard (CAN), with her two mounts.<\/p>\n

The jump off course was tested by some blazing performances by the female riders putting up four double clear rounds.<\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n

Ballard pushed her horses in pursuit of Millar’s class leading time of 42.68, aboard ‘Heros’, which stood as the winning time by nearly half a second to send her to her first title win at Angelstone, making her (and her father Ian), the first father-daughter pair to win Angelstone majors.<\/p>\n

The Nationwide Auto Warranty Headwaters Cup brings to completion three heated weeks of competition.<\/p>\n

Following the Pan-Am Games, the action returns to Angelstone with a series of 4 Majors, knows as ‘Super Saturdays’, when action returns to the Angelstone Stadium under the lights.
